These all-in cycle ranges are metro-area typical figures. Where the table shows and cites a clinic’s own pricing, that is the source. Otherwise, the range is a metro-level estimate from FertilityIQ and Cofertility regional data, not a price a clinic has confirmed. Most fertility clinics provide a per-consultation quote. Reviewed last in April 2026. Verify with the clinic directly before you rely on these numbers.
Does Massachusetts mandate insurance coverage?
Since 1987, MGL Chapter 175 §47H has mandated that all health insurers (both individual and group) in Massachusetts pay for the diagnosis and treatment of infertility that is medically indicated, including IVF and fertility preservation, with no cap on the number of lifetime cycles. This mandate is the most extensive in the country.[34]
Massachusetts MassHealth (Medicaid) covers fewer fertility services. The state mandate mainly applies to commercial insurance. Self-funded ERISA plans are not required to follow it, but most large Massachusetts employers still include fertility coverage because it is standard.
State-specific notes apply to Massachusetts
By some measures, Massachusetts’s insurance environment for egg freezing is the most favorable in the country. The market, shaped by a strong mandate, dense academic-medical-center programs, and an extensive clinic network, allows most patients to undergo treatment with substantial insurance offset.
Among the longest-running and most-published programs in the US are Boston IVF, Brigham and Women’s, MGH, and Beth Israel. Their outcomes data is generally strong compared to national averages. The pricing premium reflects clinic real-estate costs in the Boston metro area.
The state pricing data provided is for reference. A specific clinic's quote relies on the protocol, dose, monitoring frequency, and any pre-treatment tests. Confirm with both the clinic and your insurer before starting treatment.
